Mop recommendations for messy grubby kitchen?

We have a large kitchen-family room with doors into the garden and the drive. People and the cats are always coming in and out. It gets a lot of use and is always a bit grubby within a day of mopping because of all the foot traffic.

Cleaning the floor is my least favourite job and feels like painting the Forth Bridge - always ongoing.

It's a bit of a cluttered room with tables and sofas and chairs and units so the robo-vac was not a success. It kept getting stuck under legs of furniture.

My string mop is getting pretty threadbare. Other than another stringheaded mop, is there anything thagt will mke lighter work of cleaning it?

Usual pattern is lift everything off the floor (cat food bowls etc), stack stools and chairs. Vacuum, including attachment to get around the edges of the units, them mop with hot water and Flash.

I have one of those steam mops, cleans mine fairly quickly. I’m interested in replies for non electric mops though, as good to have another option.

DF has a similar sounding kitchen and lots of pets. She's bought a robot thing that hoovers and mops. I haven't seen her that happy over something she's bought in a while Wink

Steam mop unless the flooring prohibits use

We have a tiled kitchen/diner, three kids and two dogs. The floor gets filthy every day! I think I've tried every mop going to including the hoovers that mop at the same time. Nothing gets the floor as clean as a proper mop with regular water changes. I use a Vileda spin mop and bucket. It beats everything else I've tried hands down! I use a lovely smelling, pet friendly floor cleaner and change the water regularly. The mop heads wash well in the machine so it's easy to keep clean. I have a small spray mop for spills etc, and i have a Karcher steam cleaner which i use one a week.

The addis superdry is great. I just bought a new one and half a dozen replacement sponges.
