Anyone know what these critters are?

Hi all,
These critters are appearing on my windowsills (high floor in block of flats). Google Lens says "beetles or weevils." Wondering if anyone recognises them.
TIA.

Anyone know what these critters are?

Can't really see clearly but they look like woodlice?

CheeseDreamz · 21/01/2025 17:22

Can't really see properly by shape and colour they could be vodka, biscuit or carpet beetle. There are a fair few beetles of this size and shape. They aren't a big issue, but you should probably get a closer/better shot and have a look, try and find food source as larvae (like a short fat tiny catterpillar - known as woollie bears) can do a bit of damage to textile, paper, and the like.

How big are they? I'm assuming by the blurriness, quite small. They could be flour beetles or furniture beetles.

CheeseDreamz · 21/01/2025 17:24

Oh and the reason they are on the window sills, is they have laid their eggs and are heading off to freedom!

Carpet beetles are possible. We found some that had set up home under an IKEA brimnes storage bed, clearly loving the pockets of hair and dust that we're difficult to get at to clean properly.

Carpet beetle was my first thought

Had the exterminator in. Promised to be eco! Confirmed they are carpet beetles and sprayed the windowsills where they are appearing.
