I'm looking for some recommendations for bathroom towels.
I'd like some really soft but absorbent towels with a luxury feel.
Can anyone recommend some.

We are looking for the same

We heard Costco Kirkland were good but not sure

doyouknowthemuffinman42 · 19/01/2025 20:49

Next Egyptian or Christy

We bought some from Tesco a few years ago when we were in a holiday cottafe which didn't provide them. They are excellent. Far nicer than our John Lewis towels at a similar price point.

My mum decided that everyone needed new bath towels and so bought them for Christmas lat year. Everyone! children and their spouses and all the grandchildren got new bath towels. She had researched, looked at Which!

M&S Turkish Cotton is what she bought, I think they only come in solid colours, no patterns. I was very dismissive of such a boring gift.

They are brilliant! A year on and they look decent, wash well, they are obviously fluffier if you tumble them but are still soft when line dried. I would buy them again but I won't need to for years because these are going to last.

White company wash really well and last years

Tootruetoberreal · 20/01/2025 11:56

We get Kirkland for our towels; they're amazing quality. I personally use a terry towelling robe though, I have about 3, and honestly I would never go back to a bath towel again; I'm a complete convert!

FranticFrankie · 20/01/2025 11:57

All my Christy ones have gone a bit.. hard and the borders have shrivelled; making them look a bit odd
I used to love JL towels, but don’t shop there now
Have some lovely ones from Ikea- big, soft and they wash well.

Thanks all. I've actually been looking at the M&S Turkish cotton ones.
I will look at Kirkland too

M&S.

I have M&S towels that are yonks old, I have Next towels that are 5 years old and one has a hole in it !!!

I would also look at John Lewis.

LindorDoubleChoc · 23/01/2025 05:26

We have loads of towels in our house from John Lewis, M&S and Habitat.

But by far the best/my favourites are the slightly less expensive ones I bought for the dc when they went to University - from Dunelm.

I'm going to gradually replace all the very old and worn ones we have with new from Dunelm.

CanelliniBeans · 25/01/2025 18:29

I agree Dunelm are good, I'd actually forgotten some I bought from there last year which are very soft. Thank you

I've always bought Egyptian cotton towels from JL in the sales, or Christy if TXMaxx has what I want.

Reallybadidea · 27/01/2025 17:43

The softest bath sheets I've got are bamboo ones from the Towel Shop. I really like them and they're not super expensive either.

I also really like the Primark hand towels that I bought a while back. Cheap, but they feel like soft, squishy marshmallows. I will be buying lots more of them.

I've found Asda to be pretty good. Soft and fluffy especially if finished in the dryer for 5 or 10 minutes.
Can I ask; those who use a towelling dressing gown - do you still have to dry all your "important little places" before getting dressed? Confused

I wear mine over sized, and it sort of traps the heat in like a mini sauna! 😂I haven't found too much drying is needed at all, just my feet! Honestly, it dries me so much faster than a towel, and keeps me all warm and snuggly. I am a convert now, will never go back!

Onlyforaday · 28/01/2025 10:20

Thank you for that - I'm really tempted now!Smile

Dearg · 28/01/2025 10:23

I like Margo Selby at John Lewis but also recently bout some Habitat towels from Sainsbury which I love. Wash well , have stayed fluffy, and very reasonably priced,

CanelliniBeans · 31/01/2025 10:11

Well I bought some from M& S Egyptian cotton range and I'm really pleased so far.
Thanks everyone
