How to effectively clean a kettle filter?

I have cleaned my kettle inside using different methods but have a small mesh filter which is very hard to clean, just where the spout is (like any kettle I guess). How do you clean that part?

Take it out, drop it in kettle. Fill with descaler.

Can you look at manufacturers guide on line?

Pull it out, it will come out with a wiggle and soak it in lemon juice.

Mine got so impacted with lime scale I ended up placing a cork through the spout & bashing it with a wooden mallet.
