EDF free electric day

Is anyone else signed up for and taking advantage of the EDF day of free electricity today??

It's part of their beat the peak thing they do

Had an email to say as I'd beaten the peak for four afternoons in a month last month today is free electric

Washing machine on second load same as tumble dryer.
Dishwasher been on once and will be going on again in a minute

All beds about to be stripped and every cushion cover in the whole house is now in a pile 😆

Oven going on in a minute to cook two joints of meat that we bought over Xmas so we can eat them this week

Anyone else?

Why didn't they tell me about this?!

I couldn't take part, because...

To take part customers must have a working smart meter for their electricity supply

My smart meter has never worked. The meter doesn't connect to whatever it needs to connect to and hasn't done for at least 18 months. I took EDF to the ombudsman and got some free credit on my account, but still no solution.

I have been taking advantage of this for the last few months! Free electricity all day today. Washer on second load already, will get everything washed and dried. Dishwasher will be busy, bit of batch cooking and probably will do a roast later.

I think they're suspending it after this month though so next Sunday will be the last one until further notice.
