Smart kettles are they worth it?

And of so which one would you recommend? Looking for a new kettle, I like the idea of being able to boil the kettle for when I'm on my way home or upstairs, being able to keep it worm for a second drink etc. Dh thinks it's not worth the money.

Ehhhhh, it takes like 3 minutes to boil a kettle - seems pointless to me to be able to boil it on the way home.

And you'd have to come downstairs anyway if you'd iress go upstairs, and surely the first thing you do is put the kettle on, then do the faffing with cups, tea bags etc? Most you'd be waiting is 2 or 3 minutes...

See, smart heating - great idea, pop it on 30 minutes before you get home from wherever you are for the day - we use that all the time. Especially when you're out of routine etc.

I’m with dh, not worth the money.

Instead of spending £100 on a smart kettle, you could spend £12 on a smart plug and achieve the same result.

You just programme the plug using the Alexa app to turn on as you walk round the corner towards your house, or to switch on at 6.30am. Make sure the kettle is full and the switch is in the 'on' position and you're sorted.
