How often for cleaner?

Just moved from a 2 bed house to a larger 3 bed. I'm also currently awaiting a hip replacement. I'm not very well organised and have always struggled to maintain our home whilst working full time. Both our children are neuro diverse which adds to the crazy! Would anyone have any good advice around hiring a cleaner? Would I need weekly? bi weekly? What do I need to ask for? I've never been in a position to afford a cleaning service before and don't want to go in blind!! Thank you

I have a cleaner weekly, well it's through an agency - I pay for two hours weekly so they either send 2 people and stay an hour, or 3 people who stay for around 40 mins.
In between I just do the daily wiping of surfaces etc.

Mine will tidy, obviously it's not a total total mess but they will make things more presentable!

I also asked if they would change bedsheets and they were happy to do so, it's my most hated chore so it's been amazing not to have to do it!

I have a 3/4 bed house, one bathroom and one downstairs toilet - they do it all in the time given and are reasonably thorough.

Thank you! I know it depends and differs from area to area but how much should I expect to pay for 2 hours a week?

I pay £17.50 per hour, they bring their own cleaning materials.

That seems reasonable, definitely something to consider. Thanks so much for your answers x

Our cleaner comes every other week. Pay her £15/hour for 3 hours. Southeast. We provide all cleaning supplies etc.

Cleaner here... Less than weekly when you have dc isn't worth it..

3 hours a week would see me really make a dent in the overall cleanliness of your home!!

Yes. Only a teen left at home plus 2 adults. House has been much messier over Christmas! (And cleaner did an extra hour)

It does depend what you want them to do / which jobs you really hate. I don’t like “properly” cleaning the kitchen and I hate mopping floors. So when we had a cleaner (she left and we’re looking for a new one now!) she came fortnightly and did a “deep” clean of the kitchen and bathroom and mopped and cleaned all hard floors downstairs. I didn’t think that needed doing more often and I was happy to do the more frequent stuff myself (hoovering, surfaces). But my standards are quite low so that might not cut it for others!

Can anyone recommend a good cleaner in Edinburgh? I desperately need one.
