Full disclosure - I did find such a piece for the saucepan’s saucepan- brother but for some reason I can’t trace where I got it from! Here’s a pic of what I’m looking for

I’d go straight to le Crueset. I got a whole new saucepan to replace one that had chipped.

We have been using the pans without handles so they can go in the dishwasher for the last 30 plus years. I suddenly realised that I did not know why we were saving the handles. DH is on board and we can't work out why it took us this long. Thank you
