Black mould stains removal

Hi

We had some plants in the conservatory and didn't realise how bad the mould had got that had dropped one the white window sills. It's left's stains and I wondered if anyone has managed to to remove them or is the sun will bleach it white for us in the summer.

So far I have just used washing up liquid and hot water as scared to mark the ledge.

What is the sill material?

I'd use bleach on upvc and depends on the finish of the sill. If it's painted I'd try bleach first with a view to repenting it if it doesn't work.

Bleach bleaches mould - ie turns it white.

To clean mould, first scrub with soap and water of whatever you have.
Then wipe well with vinegar (cheapest is fine) or methylated spirit. Both kill mould. Don’t be shy with the vinegar. Clove oil is also good.
Only then, bleach any remaining colouration.

I keep a spray bottle hanging on my towel rail with a spray bottle of metho and spray my hot spots regularly (more in winter, less in summer) to keep it under control.

I am not sure what the window sill is. I am taking it it's a wood with plastic finish on top?

Cillit Bang black mould remover will get rid of this: it’s wonderful stuff. Supermarkets or Amazon.
