Please let me know your top tips that make it less boring a job! Are there any amazing tools that I should be using other than a sponge/ toilet brush etc? Can only use white vinegar and bicarbonate as have a septic tank.
Thanks in advance.

I love the electric brushes on sticks! They're on Amazon for £20 ish, they work amazingly on cleaning tiles and shower trays. Also save my back when doing it!

I use washing up liquid and microfibre cloths and sponges. The sponges are very effective at cleaning glass shower screens.

get a water softener if you're in a hard water area... it's a game changer!

Very similar to this one!! The current one I have I think was £26 when I bought it on sale! There's a few different ones on Amazon 😃

That brush looks ace! I might have to try something like that. I also use a sponge and washing up liquid but it's a lot of scrubbing.

Think I just want a cleaner really!

Break the, tasks down. I clean the loo 5/7 days of the week, basin every other day and bath/shower twice a week using a dishmatic. Use shower spray and squeegee on the shower screen every day. Breaks the cleaning down to manageable chunks. Floors done every 7 - 10 days. I dislike cleaning bathroom floors.

Get some music on and just go for it!

Midwintermayhem · 24/12/2024 21:25

Squeegee the shower down after you use it. Keeps the serious cleaning to a minimum.

I spray the sink and toilet with cleaner before a shower, spray the bath after the shower. Steam helps clean the bathroom. Whilst my body lotion is soaking in, I wipe down the sink, bath and toilet with bathroom wipes. Bleach and brush inside the loo, leave the bleach in the loo to soak.

This big sponges are a lifesaver for cleaning the bathroom

Also, use a squeegee and a cloth to remove all water drops after a shower. Huge faff but worth it.

we take a tip from my Japanese/Korean friends who give the toilet a wipe down after every use. Everyone cleans the loo after they have used it. And once a week i give it a quick going over and chuck one of those u-bend cleaning tabs in it.

Scrub the shower while you're in it (learned that when i had tiny babies) it saves time and seems easier. Wipe down the sink every time you use it. Same goes for the bath. then all you have to do on a weekly basis is give it a quick once over. I give the floor a bit of a wash/spray, and use that week's towel to give it a quick dry/wipe over. Then it all goes in the wash.

Great tips - thanks all. Already do the music one but it's still the most boring job!
