Help - useless self cleaning oven

Hi - hoping someone can give me guidance.
I have an old Neff self cleaning oven we inherited when we bought out house. It's at least 15 years old. We run the self cleaning mode every few months, but there are still black stains across the floor of the oven where food has dropped. The instructions for the oven say I mustn't use chemical cleaners on the oven as it might damage the coating on the inside of the oven that does the self- cleaning bit.
Has anyone dealt with this before? Anyone got any advice for what to use?

What kind of self clean? Is it pyrolytic?

My (older than your Neff) Miele is pyrolitic self cleaning and has 3 settings - we only ever use the first one but the 2nd and 3rd 'clean' for longer. The lining may have been slightly damaged if the food has been repeatedly baked onto the oven floor and you might not be able to ever get rid of the marks. Does the Neff website have any troubleshooting advice?

I have visions of ovens sprouting arms and going at it with a Brillo pad.

The base will not be pyrolytic so can use a brillo or similar.

Thanks all - I don't know what kind of self cleaning, typically I now can't find the instruction manual and I can't find a model number to look it up on the Neff website.

My neff oven has a setting for the oven floor whereby 400ml of water and a drop of fairy liquid are poured onto the floor and it heats for 21 minutes. Then I have to soak up the water.
It doesn’t clean it 100% so I use a Brillo pad because anything on the oven floor will bake on forever in pyrolytic mode. Might be possible to clean it with said Brillo pad.

I got an oven cleaning company to do mine. It was astonishing. You could see your face in it, it was that clean. Now I have an oven liner to stop stuff getting baked on.
