Sellotape sticky residue

Hello,

Not sure if this is the correct topic. I've stuck sellotape on my wooden topped island and it's left a residue behind when removed.

I've tried all sorts to get it off, it's not sticky just clear and starting to drive me mad when the light reflects 🤣

Any wisdom/tips how I might remove this?

CPC sell a label remover which might work. Not sure if it would affect your wood though.

You could try vegetable oil. Just try a little patch first. Vegetable oil removes sticky residue from things but I'm not sure how it would work on wood.

Nail polish remover (test a bit on a small area first in case it affects the wood, but it's brilliant at removing sticky residue)

Mayonnaise works too, the full fat version.

to remove sellotape or sticky residue from scissors try sunflower or veg oil With warm water & some washing-up liquid on a dish sponge or one of those abrasive ones. Good for removing sticky labels from jars etc🙂
