How do you store your jewellery?

I have a cluttered array of jewellery boxes stacked up and 2 stands. All are overflowing.
I’m no Imelda Marcos, just a collection of mostly costume and some silver/gold necklaces and earrings that I’ve built up over many years.
Tried to trim it down. I’ve got rid of stuff I don’t wear. But I like accessories so I have a few: about 25 thin necklaces… 5-10 chunky or beaded necklaces… 20 pairs of earrings studs… 10 earrings that are hoops and danglies.
I don’t have nifty jewellery drawers in built in cupboards sadly. I’m a bit limited on space. It will be on show so would like it to look nice / tidy (although not a ‘display’). Could put something on a wall as long as it’s narrow.
Typical jewellery boxes hold 3-4 necklaces, a few pairs of earrings in awkward little trays and not much more!
Any ideas?

I have Stackers boxes, as you can build the kind of box you need.

GCAcademic · 13/12/2024 09:03

Yes, Stackers. Dull but practical.

I have a wardrobe clear pocket hanger, double sided - about 20 years old now and I have an old engineer's wood tool chest (DH rescued and restored from his workplace), that I lined with felt, to store more valuable items, an old version of this https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/cmw-8b-8-drawer-wooden-machinist-tool-chest/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=ppc&utm_campaign=GS-070115410&gad_source=1

Not keen on Stackers. I fear i'd end up with a jenga tower, and the individual units aren't cheap!

I have Stackers. You can add to it as you buy more

twentysevendresses · 13/12/2024 12:24

Following for (hopefully!) ideas, as I'm the same as you OP!

I have some beautiful bespoke and vintage jewellery, and really need something equally beautiful to store it in. Currently all in various old boxes in a drawer 😟

I've looked over the years, but not found anything I love enough to spend money on.

SparkleShineRainbow · 14/12/2024 03:15

Looks like it’s just me and you @twentysevendresses
i might try posting in chat

A friend had a beautiful picture frame with a sort of pin cushion backing instead of a picture. She used to pin her jewellery up like a 3d work of art. It was fabulous.

marshmallowfinder · 14/12/2024 03:21

I have the jewellery wall cabinet from the Futon Company. It is great, although the chunky necklaces won't go in there. They do some great storage for all kinds of things, not just Futons!

Ingenious

I got these from IKEA, having it all there means I can see at a glance what I'm looking for.

Sorry just read you don't want it on display!

MrsDonDraper1 · 14/12/2024 07:50

I have a set of Muji organisers - this one and these drawers with inserts. They have a five-drawer set too and various tray combinations. Not the cheapest though.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/12/2024 20:01

I did have one of those mirror cabinet type jewellery cabinets until we redecorated then no room for it

I have some trays from Amazon along the lines of Stackers but cheaper . Bought some anti tarnishing strips too

Redkatagain · 15/12/2024 14:44

Individual necklaces or bracelets in coin bags from the bank. Chuck bags in Tupperware box

LoafofSellotape · 18/12/2024 16:26

Stackers, it's the only thing that's worked for me. So easy to find things now.

deeahgwitch · 19/12/2024 16:32

I have a Little Book of Earrings earring storage.
Sorry I can't do links, someone might do a link for me.
I find it brilliant.
