Carpet deodorant?

Hello

Is there something which will make my carpet smell fresher?

I've had the stair carpet cleaned with biological chemicals etc but there's still a whiff of cat pee. Cannot afford to replace just now. I've pulled up the carpet and the underlay is fine - the smell is definitely the carpet itself.

Any suggestions very welcome!

I've got this.

Just don't do what I did and order 4 cases instead of 4 tubs by mistake! I'm stocked up for life - can sell you one if you want 🤣.

I've got neutradol too. Spent years using Shake n Vac but can no longer find it in stores.

neutradol is good but you need urine eliminator sprays first to break down the pee smell .Once that dried cover with neutradol and leave for as long as possible before vacuuming

As above there are different brands and scents you can get. I normally shake and vac, you shake it on the carpet before hoovering. Also try to scrub the area with bicarb of soda and white vinegar as it will help with the smell

Dr Beckmann cleaner with the brush is great for fresh pet accidents. If it's been there a while you could try zoflora (patch test somewhere first). Agree with using the shake and vac/neutrodal powder before vacuuming, it has the bonus of making the dogs smell fresh when they lay on the carpet!

I can get Neutradol at Tesco (avoids buying a case!) so I'll try that one. Thanks.

I've tried Dr Beckmann and various sprays plus also bicarbonate and vinegar mix but the smell still remains. I'm hoping a deodorant can mask it for Christmas guests at least....

Neutrodol. Or you could try just bicarb. Maybe leave it down overnight.

I would also keep going with the biologicals though. Simple solution pet stain remover is excellent.

Pets at Home did a spray when my dog was a puppy which neutralised smells and cleaned. Might be worth a look if they still do it. It was own-brand.
