does everyone really do the vertical bits as well as the treads?

What if you have an upright hoover??? bet they don't show you wrestling the hose all the way up the stairs and your children playing with it whilst you are trying to hoover.

I do as she does but I start at the top that way if I knock any big bits of god knows what fluff onto the stair below I know I am cleaning that stair next.
