Morning Guys. Halfway through morning routine. Out at friends for lunch so if I can get the place tidy now it may stay nice until this afternoon

Jas · 30/04/2008 08:10

Day 17 Babystep

Morning babyjj, thankyou for starting the thread today

Well the car news is the Jag is saveable, so of course dp has booked it in to have the work done next week. I know it is lees than hiring a car to go on holiday would be, and I will appreciate having a second car in the school holidays, but I wold still only have one if it was up to me.

He's putting off doing the other one til the first is done, but he is due a biggish wage packet this week, and it will now all go on the bills I've been putting off, my glasses (which are ready to collect from the optician but not paid for) and the car.
I just hope he gets more work, as he has nothing definite after this week

Sorry guys. You may regret telling me I can moan on here I hate the unpredictability and financial insecurity we live in atm.

FLY - wise, I have no idea what I will do

I will do my mornig routine and take it from there. DD1 says she is unwell so I will have to see what happens with her, too.

Jas I understand the feeling re money - I have started to have dreams about having to move nad live in a one bed flat. I may need to find a job on an evening or weekend soon

Ruby the house will be fab

BabyJ Thanks for the link

Well another busy day in the mad house, we are off swimming this morning and then back for lunch and DS1 to Preschool and DS2 for nap

I then need to

Take picures of DS2s old cot bed and dresser for e-bay
dismantle said bed and put in garage
put up desk
Clear all the clutter in spare room
put up the curtains
find the bedding
hoover up and down
mop downstairs
get DS1 from preschool

DH is coming home from work early, as I have a major phone call with work this afternoon (I have been on long term unpaid sick leave and they are not happy), so I am really anxious and suffering for it too

I also need to think of dinner for all

catch you all later

BiancaCastafiore · 30/04/2008 09:04

Morning

Thanks for the thread babyjj Hope you get on OK at the optician.

Jas it must be such a worry with the uncertainty of money. We're another family struggling to pay all the bills these days I could do with working more hours but there's not always the work to keep me busy so I never feel I can add any more than I already do.

Ruby You've worked through the house really quickly - I'm sure it'll look great How did you get on in the end with your dds red and white themed room?

FGS enjoy lunch out.

I need to do the mission, hoover, iron, put away loads of washing and sort the freezer out today (we're eating through the freezer this week - food bill was too much last month!)
I also need to go and read at school for an hour or two.

Back later x

BiancaCastafiore · 30/04/2008 09:05

Took me so long to post that I missed you TMH Enjoy swimming, and good luck with the phone call x x

EHM · 30/04/2008 09:45

Morning Ladies

Peeing down with & grey yet again! I also have a very cranky snuffly ellie. Typical we are going to my parents tomorrow night until Sunday.
baby thanks for the thread & links. I always think off Dirty Dancing when I see you name.
FGS enjoy lunch
TMHHope phone call goes well with work. did you get my text message?Enjoy the swim
jas glad you feel you could vent. Money worries are a nightmare & really stressful. Good news on the car front, and fingers crossed that dp work load continues. Life really sucks sometimes.Hope dd1 is ok.
RR great when the house is nice, even if you have no spare pennies.
bianca I thought it was just me, but food is costing a fortune lately. Eggs especially{hmm] Good luck with your flying. How is your stepmum?

Sorry haven't caught up with yesterdays thread. Mus go poorly dd demanding chocolate & a drink milk

TeenyTinyTorya · 30/04/2008 10:56

I have a rare day off work today, so going to catch up on the mountain of jobs I have to do!

Hello everyone,
baby thanks for the thread
TMH that you are going swimming, I haven't been in ages!
EHM weather is terrible here as well, we had a purple forked lightning thunderstorm yesterday, it was incredible.

Today I have to -

wash dishes done
clean cooker done
clean kitchen surfaces etc done
empty bins done
sweep kitchen floor
put a wash on done
do ironing
mop hallway
tidy up dh's clutter done
tidy living room
clear hotspot
sweep floors
vacuum downstairs
send off CV to theatre company
do admin for own company
go to ballroom class
clean bathroom

and that will do for now!

Jas · 30/04/2008 11:31

Thanks everyone Nice to know I'm not alone iyswim.

Ruby - Anything he can get paid for! - He's a chippy, but also dowes roofing and general building work. Almost all of his work is through mates. He has 20 yrs in the trade but no qualifications on paper, and lots of places are starting t ask for NVQs.

My usual afternoon out has been relocated here, so I will have anything between 2 and 8 mms and assorted dc here for the afternoon.
That has motivated me to get cleaning

TT I love lightening. I remember sitting in my bedroom window as a child looking out at it over the fields

TMH I hope your phone call goes ok this afternoon. It may be nconvenient for them, but if you are sick, you are sick and they just have to accept tha surely.

Bianca -I'm noticing the same with the food bills, too.I;'m making a huge batch of lentil bake to go in the freezer for me today.
The dc won't eat it, but yesterday I had no hot meal as there was n't enough for me, so I need "ready meals" for next time

TheMadHouse · 30/04/2008 12:07

HI everyone, just sorting lunch for the boys

EHM Yes I got text

TTT Swimming is not all that relaxing with a 3.1 and a 22 month old, you need eyes in the back of your head and getting dry well

jas work is a bit at the moment, as my department was outsourced whilst I was on mat leave and most people have left I only know 1 employee now. Also I used to work for a really large software company and now i only work for a tiny company, so little flexability

Anyway catch you later off to feed the minis

scattyspice · 30/04/2008 12:41

Hi all.

Didn't get morning routine done before leaving (so will have washing up to do when i get home !)

Jas There is nothing more stressful than financial insecurity. I am a real money worrier!

TMH Good luck with the swimming, I always find the changing to be the hardest part. Our baths has communal changing area! so you have to go in a cubicle. When mine were your age, DS thought it would be funny to push all my clothes under the door, so I had to nip out in my knickers to rescue my clothes . It was a while before I plucked up the courage to go back!

Taking DS to a football session after school. I hope he'll be ok and happy to join in when we get there .

grouchyoscar · 30/04/2008 13:15

Was going to post earleir but...writers block I think

Plus I'm having a rest day, nothing needs urgently doing and no one cares so stuff it

Afternoon ALL

Done my morning routines,
Mopped and vacced downstairs floors, got on top of the laundry (It's amazing how fast it runs away with you) and....Just pottered about really. I've made a dozen Crazy cookies (and burnt 4 others as offerring to the God of Baking parchment)

Just got to collect him at 3, feed him and get him to do reading (tch and wh phonemes) and writing.

Something has got to go mega mental today, things are too steady

TheMadHouse · 30/04/2008 13:26

Groucy Steady is good sometimes

Scatty He he he little devil. I musch prefer the baths back down south we went to as they had family changing with lockable doors. We only have curtains now we go weekly they love it - I enjoy the fact they are water confident.

Dryer is on again (as it is raining)
I have tidied round

I am posting DS2s cotbed onto e-bay, it is a real wrench. He is in DS1s old one, so this really needs to go, but it is a little sad klnowing no more babys

jellyshoeswithdiamonds · 30/04/2008 13:33

Can I jump in with you ladies today? Need a push to get moving around here and the day is slipping away TOOOOOO fast.

ended up vaccing the house well at least it's sorted

I've done nothing and feel shattered

jellyshoeswithdiamonds · 30/04/2008 14:15

Oh dear, I can well remember mine being a wriggling 9mth in the pool and a ifeguard saying to me "let that one go and she'll be swimming", I thought he was mad I couldn't dream of letting her go but she was swimming just before her third birthday she spent more time underwater than on top of it, mind, but she loved it. It was me having kittens!

OK I've moved, just gotta keep going.

OTD to take DCs swimming

scattyspice · 30/04/2008 17:00

grouchy that doesn't sound like a rest day!

Jelly swimming by 3 thats impressive!

Ruby at that form! Its like the PND ones the HVs do, if you don't feel glumbefore you fill them in you will after! Knitting is great therapy (I can only do scarfs though ).

Tried to take DS to football but he didn't want to go and I don't want to push him. He is quite happy digging in the garden LOL.

Anyway, at least I've finish my morning routine now LOL.

Jas · 30/04/2008 17:21

Jelly What is p/u? ( it is probably really obvious)

Ruby - Have you been refused, or have you read the form and decided you aren't suffering enough to deserve counselling?
You should fill in the form....you may wait longer than someone who is suicidal (and rightly so) but that doesn't mean you wouldn't benefit from some counselling.

I had 8 mums and 9 under 5s here this afternoon, in my teenytiny sitting room All restored to normality now.I'm off tobath ds, then collect dd1 and friend from Brownies.

I will post that parcel for you tomoorw Bianca
