Has anyone tried tallow and ash laundry products are they any good? Are they worth the money
What fragrances are nice ? Are they meant to be dupes of well known fragrances

I got some sample sachets in a gift bag last year.

They smelt incredible, but unfortunately didn’t shift some stains that would’ve been easily lifted by my normal detergent. They were gone with a second wash with a Lidl own brand washing powder.

I was disappointed as it really smelt lovely!

Alfiemoon1 · 25/11/2024 22:42

@FirstFallopians thanks wonder if using regular washing powder and just the fabric softener would get rid of stains and smell nice

I switched completely to Tallow & Ash. I really love their products and their ethos (they really do engage with their customers) as well as the scents. Never had a problem removing any stains (they do also make a stain remover you can add to your wash) but I don't have heavily stained laundry so....who knows.

Edit: They're MUCH better than that awful Smol which really didn't get my laundry clean at all.

Scampuss · 25/11/2024 23:06

I love the scents, the discovery pack of sachets has been on offer so is a good place to start. my laundry doesn't get stained so haven't noticed a problem.

Animatron · 25/11/2024 23:15

I ordered a sample pack from seeing them on here and I hated them. I really was surprised how much I disliked the smells - incredibly synthetic and weirdly also somehow dirty? Like, some bitter edge of damp or something. Like lollipop damp.

MoonlightMedicine · 25/11/2024 23:15

I use them exclusively and love them.

Weefreetiffany · 25/11/2024 23:18

Honestly i really wanted to love them. The samples are good but the amount in them is much more than the actual wash on the bottle. It says you can get 24 washes out of the 700ml in the bottle but if you do that you can barely smell it and it barely cleans. I have to use 50ml ml and even then it doesnt lift stains. You have to buy another £12 stain remover to mix in and it all gets rather expensive to need 3 bottles (shampoo, conditioner and stain remover) that are £12-14 each and you can realistically get 14 washes out of. Thats minimum £2.50 a load!

floppybit · 25/11/2024 23:29

I thought I was going to love it but I'm a bit disappointed. I bought 2 different scents to try and both are quite weak. I think Ecover smells so much nicer so will be going back to that.

How weird! Just started exactly the same thread. And then did a search and realise this one is very recent. Totally agree with everybody who’s underwhelmed

Alfiemoon1 · 12/12/2024 10:55

@Frnj I can't see a link not sure if it's because I am on the app

Well, they don’t smell of anything

Date Night smells lovely! It's my favourite by far. Some of the others are too subtle for me though.

Zoozles1 · 04/01/2025 08:19

Also code TP35 gives you 35% off everything but samples

hazmatte · 04/01/2025 19:36

Don’t do it guys they’re shit

SheGotOffThePlane · 27/01/2025 19:54

@hazmatte shit how? Does the fragrance not last, or it doesn't clean? I've ordered a few samples to try and was thinking of using their fabric fragrance spray.
However if it's anything like the Purdy & Figg I won't bother - that was awful for longevity.

Alfiemoon1 · 27/01/2025 23:22

I got sucked in and ended up ordering the samples then some full size bottles it could be me that like stronger fragrances but they don't really smell of much I am using the tumble dryer so maybe that isn't helping I also have a 9 kg washer so tried putting less in and still can't smell anything really no issues with cleaning but my clothes aren't stained but it is expensive for what is is there marketing and sales pitch is either excellent or I am a sucker

Thanks for the warning about Percy and fig as I was tempted to order that as well

It must be one company flogging the lot to idiots like us

Amouchi · 07/02/2025 22:58

I agree they smell amazing but I always have to use 2 capfuls to get a good smell. Same with the conditioner

ThePerkyAmberBeaker · 10/03/2025 00:46

They hardly smell of anything 😒 expensive too !!

shenry · 30/03/2025 20:55

I am a Tallow and Ash addict. I use one capful, have a 10kg washing machine and I use a cold wash. The scents are amazing. My husband even noticed without me mentioning I had switched. I also love their fabric sprays which are good for upholstery, curtains and petbeds. I give the mattress a spray while the sheets are drying. Using a hot wash or a dryer will diminish the fragrance though.

dnamummy · 30/03/2025 22:44

They have just got a listing in Tesco - limited number of stores, but if you do want to try, might be worth keeping an eye out

hazmatte · 31/03/2025 10:12

I used them for ages and they did not make any difference at all. I think this is a plant.

hazmatte · 31/03/2025 10:13

Using a hot wash will diminish the fragrance? How else do you wash your bloody clothes?
