cleaning an enamal bath.

I think it's enamal or ceramic?? def not plastic- it's one of the old deep ones.

anyhow how can I bring it up shiney cos at hte mo it always looks dingy, have tried washing powder, and the bathroom cleaning stuff.

When I decided to cut back on the chemicals I boraxed the bath. It got rid of loads of yuk. (Used it with one of those double-sided scourer sponges.)
Have kept it going with a weekly salting and it is actually smooth to the touch now. (How sad is that?) and almost properly white again. (We have new white tiles so you can see the difference quite clearly.)
It is also shiny when it's freshly done, though it doesn't last. I've only been doing this since Christmas, but hope it will eventually look loved / shiny.
