Toilet plunger on carpet

So I work in a school. Yesterday a maintenance man came into my classroom with the toilet plunger he'd just been using on a blocked toilet. It was still wet and dripping. He stood around talking to a few kids and tapped it on the carpet a number of times. I assume it was rinsed off with clean toilet water but I'm still totally freaked out by the germs/bacteria. I have a kid in the class who crawls on the floor and puts her hands in her mouth too. Just to make it worse...
Is a wet toilet plunger on the carpet disgusting? Or am I being paranoid? It's 3 weeks until term break when the carpets get cleaned. Do I just leave it and avoid touching that area of floor?? Any advice much appreciated

Suggest they get rid of the carpets, put down hard flooring that's easy to clean and playmate., carpets are dirty and why do you need to touch it?

Primary schools have carpets to sit on at group time. I think it's pretty universal. I think I'd have spoken to him at thevtime but small children will home into contact with worth things. I had a child in my class who used to lock the soles of her shoes.

Presumably schools use indestructible carpet, the kind that can be disinfected and even bleached with merry abandon.

Schools always have carpet. I don't need to touch it. It just grosses me out so hence the checking :)

It was too late by the time I'd seen him and he's quite an intimidating guy...that's true, kids are in contact with lots...

So you think I ask for the floors to be cleaned? The normal cleaner wouldn't do this so I think it would be paying a carpet cleaner. I doubt they'll do it as an extra clean, budgets are tight...
