Underbed drawers - what do you keep in yours?

We just got a new bed with 4 drawers underneath. Two of these are obstructed by bedside tables so I don't want to use them frequently. The other two open with ease. Picture attached - they go back another 6 inches or so but aren't very deep.

How would you use these? Thanks in advance!

I keep bedding in them

I only got 2 drawers as, like you said, the tables prevent the top ones from opening

suburburban · 17/11/2024 14:37

I keep bedlinen, out of season clothes and duvets in mine. They are brilliant

suburburban · 17/11/2024 14:38

2 of mine are smaller so can open bedside tables

I keep bedding and duvets in mine. The top draws that are hard to get to have seasonal things like electric blankets that you'd only want out in winter

Lovelysummerdays · 17/11/2024 14:44

Stuff you don’t need so often in the awkward ones. Holiday/ seasonal clothes in vacuum bags. Bed linen in the others.

NotbloodyGivingupYet · 17/11/2024 14:55

Posh shoes that I probably won't wear again but can't bear to get rid of. Jeans that are too small ditto. Box of spare cables, adaptors, chargers.

We've got an inflatable canoe & life jackets in ours ...

As per most of the other replies - things you don't uses very often. So for us, swimming costumes and other holiday clothes.
One of my dc keeps all their camping / outdoor wear - hiking socks, gaiters, thermals etc in theirs.

Milknosugarta · 17/11/2024 15:39

Spare duvets, blankets and pillows in vacuum bags.

DoublePeonies · 17/11/2024 15:50

We've got 2 drawers, and 2 half sized drawers, so the bedside tables don't get in the way.
The small drawers contain the spare bedding and towels that get used a handful of times a year when we have a house full. The full sized drawers contain the clean towels and sheets for everyone's beds.

Jabtastic · 17/11/2024 18:01

Thanks for all the ideas! I think I need a ruthless declutter before anything else so I'll probably leave them empty for the time being!

We use ours for out of season clothes

NotbloodyGivingupYet · 17/11/2024 18:12

Nearly forgot!
A pair of giant bulldog clips for holding the corners when I'm putting on a clean duvet cover on my own.

Mine house some of my yarn stash 🧶🧶🧶

dottydoglover · 17/11/2024 18:25

Pjs and socks

AyrshireTryer · 17/11/2024 18:26

Bedding and my escape money before I moved out.

thereisamouseinthehouse · 17/11/2024 18:30

On my side of the bed, shoes. On DH's side of the bed, the good wine.

CharlotteStreetW1 · 17/11/2024 18:48

Shoes. Summer shoes in one and winter/work shoes in the other.

BertieBotts · 17/11/2024 19:10

Christmas presents Grin

But honestly ours get all nasty and dusty. We have just moved and I relocated the bedding out of them for this reason. I am thinking whether it's possible to put some kind of shield between the bed and the drawer, or I might just only keep things which have a protective box or cover in there.

AudiobookListener · 17/11/2024 19:32

Bedding and towels in the bottom two. Stuff I dont need very often, spare curtains, cover for airbed etc in one at the top and on t'other side craft supplies and things I've made.

EmpressaurusKitty · 17/11/2024 19:34

Bedding, towels & jumpers in mine. And sometimes the cat.

ArcticBells · 17/11/2024 19:35

4 drawers of jumpers !!
