Morning Ladies,

We have all only just got up which was a very welcome lie in (well compared to a school day anyway)

I don't actually have any plans really. I might try and persuade DH it is a good idea to let me go into town and buy some new shoes for the ball

Other than that its a lazy day today

Tort that looks yummy! Let me know how it turns out. We use Waitrose recipes alot, I find they're usually v easy to follow (necessary for me!)
Dyls enjoy the swim

We've had a lazy start to the day so far but are finally up and getting on.
Dh has taken the kids with him to run some errands so I have a couple of hours to myself. I need to~

~bake - cookies and choc cakes
~clean kitchen
~sort fridge
~make jelly
~collect chairs and tables
~work out where we'll seat everyon eif party is inside...

Dd is going to decorate the cakes etc with me this afternoon.
The final tidy round will happen much later on this afternoon/evening then we should be ready for the guests to arrive in the morning (lunchtime party)

BiancaCastafiore · 26/04/2008 10:29

Oh, and Thank you to Tort and Luda parcels from you both arrived in the post today, very kind x

(I've squirreled them away for now)

BiancaCastafiore · 26/04/2008 11:41

[sigh]

Fear I'll sound ungrateful here but...My dad v kindly helped us out paying for our holiday this year - turns out this was so they could come and use the holiday house with us for at least a long weekend. Fine if he and my step-mum were easy people to share with but they're not. I'm very fond of my dad and we have a great relationship mostly but last time we shared with them dh and I ended up hiding in our room all the time trying to keep the kids quietly entertained. They have a complete misunderstanding of how life is with children and the kind of holiday small children like ie- whole days on the beach.
My bro is also thinking about joining us for a couple of days but at least he and SiL are more on our wavelength.

Not looking as though it'll be much of a holiday in some ways - dh and I need time away from any stresses.

BiancaCastafiore · 26/04/2008 12:41

where are you all?

~bake - cookies and choc cakes cakes done, cookies next
~clean kitchen ongoing
~sort fridge done
~make jelly
~collect chairs and tables
~work out where we'll seat everyone if party is inside... done, it'll be a squeeze!
~clean cloakroom done

Everything seems to be on track so far

BiancaCastafiore · 26/04/2008 12:43

oh, my last two posts almost exactly an hour apart

tortoise · 26/04/2008 13:19

Hi Bianca PN shut down yet again and we had to pop to the shops for sugar. Stupid dog got hold of the egg yolk and sugar part of ice cream mix and it had the last of the sugar in it.
Ice cream is now in the freezer!
Sounds like you are getting all organised.

Hope you can sort something out with your Dad for the holiday. Just carry on as you would normally, they will have to tah along or do something they enjoy with out you!

tortoise · 26/04/2008 13:20

That should say PC* lol

DontDreamItBeIt · 26/04/2008 13:27

[gri] all those posts in a row Bianca. I was shopping and running errands.

Jus stopping for lunch, now.

I agree with tortoise - just do what you normally would o holiday, and let them fit in around you (or not)

BiancaCastafiore · 26/04/2008 13:41

hello you two!

I have been hunting for an egg free cookie recipe and finally found one so dd and I will get cooking after lunch.
We've decorated one batch of cakes

I'm sure we'll cope on holiday it's just an added stress...and they're threatening to drive down in convoy with us which would make a stressful journey even worse for me so I need to put them off a bit.

tortoise · 26/04/2008 13:43

Glad you found a recipe. Hope they turn out well.

grouchyoscar · 26/04/2008 13:55

Afternoon ALL and hello to any newbies

The week is catching up with me. I can't get going for the life in me. Or maybe the trip to Tesco has sucked the will to live out of me. I just need to sleep.

Jas I went back for the bag as Ed was having a meltdown and it gave him something to focus on. I also wanted to make sure I hadn't dropped it in the street, plus it has his reading record in it when I tell the teacher how is reading is going, and vice versa.

Did I read that someone's DC was starting a snail sanctuary?

There's tons to do here but...Oh, it will wait

ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

BiancaCastafiore · 26/04/2008 15:40

We gave up cooking and have been at the park for the last hour and a half instead

Back now and must get on! Busy, busy, busy!

tortoise · 26/04/2008 16:07

BiancaPark sounds like more fun!

I have been outside with DD's. Got DD1 riding her bike then the damn chain kept coming off. I have no idea why it keeps coming off either!

Wonder how long PC will stay on this time?

Having a tidy round front room at the moment.

tortoise · 26/04/2008 18:46

MMMMMmmmmmmmmm Ice cream is delish! Kids love it too!
