I just want a replacement lid/top as this one is fraying and getting smaller lol. want to cover washing as selling house this isn't one of the things I can hide unfortunately I've googled which lead me to eBay but wasn't right size, nothing on Amazon, any ideas please?

How big does it need to be?

Would a large woven placemat work?

Like this: Set of 4 Round Woven Placemats | Dunelm

If you're crafty you could get a load of raffia and weave it all around the 'spokes' to fill them in.

I'd be tempted to either chuck a piece of fabric over it or just bin and start again. If you get a new one, you could turn the basket into a plant jardiniere if you're really keen to reuse recycle etc.

Designed with a woven composition and made from durable materials, these placemats are easy to clean, heat resistant and available in a choice of colours...

I'd go with fabric. Stiffened or cardboard inner. Or pegged on. Or shower cap style, elasticated.

How are your sewing skills?

You could cover your existing one with 2 circles of fabric and sew a pompom on the top/middle to use as a handle. Maybe extend the spokes with skewers, chopsticks or similar so the lid rests on the top of the basket.
