Scented candles

I love scented candles and just wanted to know what are you go to's?

I love Yankee candles but a little expensive

Cheaper ones don't seem to hold the scent as much

Any ideas for reasonable but nice smelling?

Primark do a great range and they are cheap enough that you don’t mind burning them. They have some really pretty jars and pots.

Sand and Fog. Via TK Maxx. We love Goji Berry best. Ocean smells are also very good. Order on their website... I just bought them as gifts for lots of people for Xmas and feel quite smug ;))

I like Aldi's Hotel Collection range

IKEA candles are great and super cheap (provided you don't get waylaid by buying new kitchen on the way...). I particularly love their red berry one

Devon Wick

Most Yankee candles and other cheap candles contain synthetic fragrance and paraffin. It's really not good for you and cause headaches in many people.

Soy wax is healthier. Paraffin wax holds colour better but coloured candles look a bit cheap anyway

Great ideas thank you!!

I really like St Eval for inexpensive lovely-smelling candles

Yes, they're gorgeous and look so much more expensive to give as gifts. X

Sand and Fog are really good, I’m currently burning Harvest Wreath, the whole house smells gorgeous

H & M Home section. They seem to get a reasonably good balance between affordability and holding their scent.

MoonWoman69 · 30/10/2024 22:53

Home Bargains do some nice ones, also The Range.

I used to be obsessed with Yankees but they don't have the throw they used to have, not since moving manufacturing to Czech Republic. I mostly buy white company now (not the "botanical" ones) as I can smell them beyond just one room, but not especially cheap. I bought a Diptique but it was too small to have much of a throw (whilst smelling lovely).

I think it's hard to scent a large spaces. I've completely given up on diffusers.

Beautypie candles are amazing. People actually comment on them!

mimiasovitch · 31/10/2024 08:58

I love St Eval, but my husband bought me a hibiscus scented candle from Tesco, that I've since rebought several times as I love the scent so much. I definitely didn't expect much from it but have been surprised.

PotatoBreadForTheWin · 31/10/2024 09:13

My favourite affordable ones are st eval but I am a regular at tkmaxx too
