Miele and long hair?

I'm planning on getting a new vacuum and I've seen that the Miele C3 Cat and Dog seems to be one of the best on the market. My only concern is that the brush head roll cannot be removed to remove hair. Both my daughter and I have long hair so I'm concerned this is going to cause issues. Has anyone else got long hair and a Miele? If so can you give me feedback on if you have any issues with it?

You don't need to remove the roller , just use a pair of scissors, easy!

Ok thanks, it's only because I've heard people complaining about it so wanted to make sure. Especially as we are a household with long hair.

We've got Miele cylinders which are fantastic, I don'tike push vacuums. Even the cheapest Miele is better than anything else I've tried, they're fantastic. I have long hair which sheds and cylinders cope great with it. One of my mine is 20 years old and still perfect. I keep one upstairs and one downstairs so don't have to lift upstairs.

Yes, it's what I've been doing with vacuum cleaners of all makes all my life, never found it a problem.

My turbo brush attachment seized up recently, that was more down to a thread than the hair on it but it does come apart easily for cleaning.

Thanks for the replies everyone. @LoafofSellotape which Miele do you think is the best in your opinion? Is the C3 Cat and Dog the best?

I have the C3 cat and dog, and long hair. It's definitely the best I've ever had - scissors here too.

I'd take a look at Which best buys, you can normally get a free month's trial or go via your library. That's how I got my Shark and honestly it's amazing with hair. We have a dog and three people with lots of long hair who shed like anything.

Miele cat and dog owner here. It’s lasted many, many years. Nail scissors for the hair. It’s kind of gross but fascinating at the same time.

Miele is a good brand but the 'cat & dog' is really for clearing short hair from pets.

Much better has been the 'hardwoodfloor' attachment. This brushes up the long hairs which can then be easily cleared and fed down the tube.

I have a Miele cat & dog for 22 years, I've found it's rubbish for long hair. As PPs have mentioned, long human hair wraps around the rolling brush and has to be cut off with (nail) scissors). Also, in 22 years, I've had 3 of these attachements - the bearings wear out.

It's the only vacuum that gets my thick long hair off the carpet. I do have to remove my hair from the turbo brush using scissors about once a year but it doesn't take long.

We mostly use the non-turbo brush for everyday hoovering and that also takes up the hair. I peel it off at the end and suck up the hose

The Shark with anti wrap technology is great
