Flies and wasps in the flat

DH and I live in 1-bedroom flat, more than 2 years in this particular property. Around month ago we have noticed we have a lot of flies in the flat and wasps in public area. We never leave our food on the surfaces, wash the dishes immediately and store the litter in the bin. Also, we do not open the windows so pretty sure all flies and wasps are coming from public area - there are a lot of them on the floor, walls and stairs. We live on the top floor so we assume there is something on the roof that’s why we have flies and wasps but we do not have an access to check. We raised an issue to the landlord, she said she passed it over to management company. We noticed the people fr management company just come and clean public area, but nothing has been done to solve the issue. I’m getting angry knowing we paying quite high rent (especially this summer our landlord increased the price) and we live in such poor conditions. I found myself even sad knowing when I come home from work I will see flies and wasps in the flat. Any andvice?

If there are lots of wasps it sounds as though there might be a wasp nest. I would have thought flies AND wasps would be caused by separate issues as they don't tend to be attracted to similar things eg. if there's something dead on the roof it would explain the flies (depending on the type of fly) but not the wasps. Cleaning won't get rid of a wasp nest, maybe let your landlord know there are still wasps and ask if they can contact a pest control service to check for nests.
