Alternative to marigold type washing up gloves

I have hated the feel of washing up gloves so have never worn them. I've kept washing up to a minimum by using the dishwasher. For various reasons, I'm now having to hand wash dishes on a daily basis and can really see the impact it's having on my nails. I'm not into wearing nail varnish or anything but do normally have them neatly filed and a consistent length. Now, they keep flaking and breaking. As the dishes is the only change I can think of, I think it must be due to this.
Is there anything I can wear instead of marigold (or own brand equivalent) type washing up gloves which doesn't feel so repulsive?

I know what you mean. IKEA are the only ones I ever use. They are smooth with no lining, last for months and cost £1

I put cotton gloves on under the rubber gloves. The kind you use for keeping hand cream on in bed. If you slather your hands with hand cream first you get a bonus beauty treatment when you wash up.

I use these, they are smooth inside. I've had them for ages so can't remember where they are from.
