Washing machine detergent drawer.

Hi all.
Should I just make peace with the fact that the detergent drawer gets black with mould?

I’m attempting to clean it with bleach & an old toothbrush but it’s a bit of a losing battle.

Anyone got any top tips?

Have you fully removed the drawer (it comes out with a click) and soaking it in a bucket of bleachy water then scrubbing with hot water and washing up liquid in the sink? That kind of mould is quite easily fixable, but then stop leaving the drawer closed all the time. It is a damp place by nature so mould will always grow. Leave it completely open every night or as often as you can to dry out.

Can you put some kitchen roll soaked with bleach on the stain overnight? I do this with cillit bang mould remover in the bathroom and it works.
