Sonic mice deterrents

Do these work? Have seen mixed reviews,
do they upset dogs?
We live in an old house so although we have had a pest man in previously he fitted grids over air bricks but said we have to manage our expectations over the reality. So far we
have caught at least 10 this autumn.
They are also in our shed, chewing stuff, nesting.
we live in the countryside so we are surrounded by mice and worse.
looking for solutions.
we have tried peppermint oil in the area where we catch them. Not sure if it is effective.
Any suggestions?

We live in an old house in a rural area, and I bought an ultrasonic device when we had a rat problem. I was desperate and didn't expect much from it, but it actually worked. Within 24 hours the scrabbling and gnawing stopped, I left the device plugged in for several weeks and they didn't return.

I don't know if it affects dogs, but it did not bother our cats.

They worked amazingly for us, and never seemed to upset our dog.

We sent ours back, it had mice teeth marks on it where they'd gnawed it... no quibble with the refund!

So far since we installed it we haven’t caught any mice. Amazing, would recommend this device.
