Hi, looking at getting a robot vacuum for my house, can anyone recommend a good budget one. The cheaper the better , but it still needs to do the job properly. Thanks

I got mine a few years ago and found there was a huge jump from ones around £150 to the £800 ones. I did quite a bit of research to identify the best of the cheaper ones and got an iLife. It's very good. I think it's about 5 years old now but still buzzes about every day!

memememe · 18/10/2024 08:28

Thank you, I'm having trouble seeing what more I get for the extra hundreds of pounds.... wonder if I'm better buying a cheaper "better brand" one or an unknown brand.

I have a Eufy, it was under £200 and I love it.

Same. Super affordable and changed my life.

Same same.

My floors are a lot cleaner since I got him!

HappyHolidai · 18/10/2024 08:41

Another Eufy fan here. Mine is called Happy and he cheered my lockdown immensely. He also likes to mount things, so do be careful what you leave on the floor.

ExquisiteIyDecorated · 18/10/2024 08:47

Do the Eufys cope with rugs and hard surfaces as well as carpet? Also have any of you got cats?

Fupoffyagrasshole · 18/10/2024 08:48

Love my eufy!! I only have hard floors in the whole flat and rugs in each room - it copes fine with those ! Can’t say anything about carpet though as I don’t know

my 3 year old knows how to turn it on and sends it round after she’s eaten her dinner to clear up any crumbs 🤣🤣

ive a new baby now as well and haven’t got time to hoover and this guy really helps me feel like at least my floors are clean

WitchDancer · 18/10/2024 08:54

Another Eufy owner here too. If I was going to replace it I would go for a more expensive one that maps out your rooms as he does tend to fixate on a couple of areas (particularly trying to mount the kitchen chair bases 😂). Other than that I love it!

MrsPositivity1 · 18/10/2024 14:29

Eufy definitely

Not sure about rugs but it goes from carpet to hard floor absolutely fine. I also have a cat and a dog and it does a great job of keeping on top of their fur, they are both a bit scared of it.

MrSeptember · 18/10/2024 14:32

Eufy are really good and the older models are still available at good prices. Don't buy full price - there are almost always deals if you hang about for a short time.

ExquisiteIyDecorated · 18/10/2024 14:38

Thanks for the replies, it's going on my Black Friday watch list. I have seen a few videos of cats going for a ride on them!

HappyHolidai · 18/10/2024 15:17

My cats have always been very suspicious of Happy the Eufy robot hoover. Sadly, I have not had the pleasure of watching any ride on him.

memememe · 18/10/2024 15:54

Thanks everyone, think I'm going to go for the eufy g50, now to decide if i should wait for Black Friday or buy it now....

I've had two eufys and a baguette.
Love them for what they do but they are needy, don't replace a proper hoover and die after 2 to 3 years.

whensmynexthol1day · 18/10/2024 17:01

Does anyone's hoover scratch the skirting boards or painted kitchen units. We have a ridiculous amount of hard flooring that I would so love to have a eufy for but am scared about my lovely painted island getting wrecked....

notinthefingmood · 18/10/2024 17:18

Eufy

They have sensors on them so they don't knock or rub along things, there's a wee brush that gets close to skirting boards.

I agree with the poster that says they are needy and possibly a bit dramatic

whensmynexthol1day · 18/10/2024 17:29

Ah amazing @RoseDog good to know thank you!

Wtfdude · 18/10/2024 17:30

Eufy called James and he has British butler voice😂
They never do full job like proper hoover BUT they really help on hard floors. I use him for daily hoover, then once a week do floors properly. Mine was about 200

Same. Mine doesn’t “map” where it’s been so bounces around a bit like Spirograph, if you remember that, in the reasonable expectation that the whole area will end up being done.

It also doesn’t mop. Oh how I wish it would mop, but that was several times more expensive and I couldn’t justify it. So the floor just doesn’t get mopped 🤣

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/10/2024 17:34

Mine keeps whingeing that the roller is stucj - well Alexa whinges on it's behalf.
I remove the roller , clean it , empty the collection site , the filter ......still whinges

what am I doing wrong here
