Le Creuset - can I rescue this pan?

I put this on the induction hob on high, put some oil in and it was left probably for the amount of time it takes to boil a kettle.... this happened and no it won't wash off.

DH has been scrubbing away over the past few days but it's just not lifting it all.

I have to admit that whilst this pot is my dear departed mum's and I've always coveted it, I do find it really crap to use, it's not the dream pot I thought.

But I would like to rescue it!

Any ideas?

Would it be OK to just carry on using it then?

I've just sprinkled some bicarbonate of soda and washing up liquid on it so I'll let it soak whilst I crak on with the rest of the house then give it a scrub.

Thanks all!

I think that if you carried on using it then the burnt on oil bits would gradually come off over time. I can't see there would be any health issues with it, it just looks a bit unsightly.

I inherited a set of 4 casserole dishes that are probably nearly 30 years old now, and the enamel got crazed on one of them and eventually a bit chipped off. (I don't think my mum was very careful about heating them slowly, and I tend to put them straight onto a high heat 😬) I got in touch with Le Crueset and they replaced it free of charge. I got a bit of a telling off in the email but I'll take that for £200 worth of fancy cooking pan!

I would try the pink stuff (paste) and scrub with a ball of scrunched up foil.

Ours is black inside. Is that not normal?

Bleach it. Just a little left overnight should do it. Works on mine.
