What does your cleaning person do?

I've recently, for the first time in my life, hired a cleaner to come once a week. It's been such a lovely thing for me to always have a clean home. I never grew up with a cleaner and so I wanted to ask what is "normal" to ask your cleaner to do.

So far, as a standard 4 hours she will:
Clean the kitchen
Clean 2 bathrooms
Sweep/mop/vacuum all floors
Dusting
Take.out bins, add new.bin bags
Empty vacuum cleaner, clean mop bucket after using

I wanted to ask, is it typical for cleaners to also:
Do ironing
Put dirty clothes in washing machine, hang up wet clothes, fold laundry
Change bed sheets

Many thanks in advance!

Cleaner recommendation SW18

I’m looking for a new cleaner who is actively taking on new clients.

Does anyone have a recommendation for someone who can work weekly in the SW18 area of London? 🙏

My cleaner does the usual stuff—bathrooms, kitchen, vacuuming, mopping, and dusting. But I’ve noticed that if I ask nicely and have a friendly chat now and then, she’s happy to do extra things like windows or changing bed sheets. Being kind and clear really helps—they often do more when they feel appreciated!

Ours come fortnight and hoovers and dusts throughout (4 bedrooms hallway and stairs carpeted ) cleans two bathrooms and downstairs toilet , cleans kitchen surfaces , hob and sink also same in utility room then dusts the lounge finishes by mopping through downstairs - takes her about 2.5 hours

Blimey that’s speedy. Ours would want 4/5 hours for that

Even at 4 hours, it wouldn't be a thorough job. People have hugely unrealistic expectations of cleaners, even when they're nice to them to get more out of them, as per the poster above. As opposed to what Gleem? Bring rude and demanding and patronising?

Ours comes twice a week for three hours each time. 3500 Square feet - 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a separate bog.

Mops hard floors: kitchen, hall, family room, boot room, utility, bathrooms; vacuums all other rooms and the family room sofas where the cats sleep/hang out! Cleans utility and bathrooms, polishes mirrors, empties bedroom and bathroom bins. 3 hours.

Dusts/polishes, wipes light fittings, door handles/plates, etc. Does a floor at a time - three floors. Does two hours ironing.

The house is always tidy and the kitchen is wiped down as I go so is always spotless.

She is not expected to clean the kitchen, do the washing or change bed linens.

£17ph and works very hard for it. Surrey.
