I tried this product and it didn’t work at all (on my bathroom silicone). See pictures:before/during/after. To be fair it was called ‘Mold removing gell’ maybe it’s a counterfeit version.

Not helpful and very rude 🙄

OP I've used Cillet bang and HG mould remover, both were very effective.

Edingril · 28/09/2024 11:15

If it is that bad removing it will only mean it keeps on coming back what is being done to prevent it in the first place?

Lovelyview · 28/09/2024 11:51

The only way I've found once it has got into the silicone is to remove and replace the silicone.

FedUpandEatingChocolate · 21/03/2025 20:45

I think when the sealant is more mould than sealant, it's time to replace the sealant.

quintessentially166 · 21/03/2025 20:47

Tried various brands and always come back to HG Mould Cleaner

Theunamedcat · 21/03/2025 20:48

My sealant is just as bad my shower leaks in a couple of spots and it grows mould in the spots I've tried the HG mould cleaner didn't work I just need the sealant replaced but obviously this will only be a temporary solution because the shower will still leak and create divots

FedUpandEatingChocolate · 21/03/2025 21:10

Replacing the sealant is not a difficult job, definitely possible to DIY it

Crevice Cleaning Brush, Bathroom Tile Groove Gap Cleaning Brush,Premium Crevice Cleaning Tool Aluminum Support with 15° Angle Magic Brush, Thin Brush for Home Kitchen (5PCS)

I got some thin brushes from Amazon which are brilliant for areas like this and behind the taps and round the loo seat hinges .
I got 5 so kitchen/bathroom/loo + spares .

I use Astonish mould&mildew spray then leave it a while then scrub

highlandcoo · 22/03/2025 22:46

IIf the mould has got in behind the silicone it won't ever clean properly.
I replaced my silicone recently. If you are reasonably practical with a steady hand it's remarkably easy. Not expensive either. I'm really pleased with the result - it looks great.

Hg mould cleaner works every single time ,and I had similar mould in the bathroom. It will work ,but be careful when spraying it caused my skin to itch for a day or so . Maybe I should wear gloves 😂

MotherFlumper · 25/03/2025 18:21

HG. Without question. No scrubbing needed.

Heratnumber9 · 29/03/2025 23:54

Roll up thick kitchen roll into narrow sausage shapes, then soak in bleach, and line the edge of the bath with them. Ditto re. the tiles (for wall tiles just put individual bleach soaked squares on the affected areas🤓). Do this before you go to bed, or before you go out for the day. Twelve hours later just remove and voila! no more mould. A million times more effective than HG.
