Dehumidifier or heated airer?

And I don't want to buy both 😂

We changed the boiler so I no longer have a nice warm airing cupboard to dry my washing 🙃

My friend suggested a dehumidifier but I've also seen the heated airer with the cover - has anyone got either and would recommend?

I posted a thread a few days ago asking for dehumidifier recs as I didn't want a heated dryer but want to dry my clothes faster and pretty much everyone recommended the Meaco, so that's what I'm going to go with.

Dehumidifier all the way. You would be amazed at how much moisture evaporates when you dry clothes. The mistake many people make when using a heated airer is not having any ventilation. This results in the room/house becoming damp and potentially mould forming. The moisture has to go somewhere.

I would also recommend Meaco.

Dehumidifier.
Heated airer doesn't help with condensation or mould.

Ive gone from a heated airer which was cumbersome to a dehumidifier and it's AMAZING. Plus I just have it on all the time (moved about the house) and my house feels so much better for it.

Just a pain having to empty it.

I have two heated airers and several different dehumidifiers!

If you can only get one, get a good dehumidifier, at least 12L. These are relatively inexpensive and work well. Reconditioned is even cheaper:

Dehumidifier. We have one that must be at least ten years old that was given to us. It makes such a difference when drying clothes or after morning showers on a damp day I imagine a newer, better one must be amazing!

The dehumidifier is great as it doubles up drying the room and clothes and also kicks out a bit of heat to warm the room too!

we’ve got a meaco and bought direct from meaco. Their customer support with repairs has been great

Our dehumidifier is 24 years old and still going strong. DD has the Meaco one, which is also excellent. They really are a game changer.

Brilliant, decision is unanimous!
