Today we've tidied out cupboards

And I'm left with

• the bits I don't quite know what to do with
• bits that should have gone away with particular items but got missed
• things to list on ebay
• all the washing to put away
• clean sheets to put on the bed
• dinner to make

Help! I always want to give up at this point and just go to sleep on a pile of washing and carrier bags.

I’ve cleared one shelf in kitchen, I tend to do one at a time. I sorted out a whole basket of socks, coloured and patterned only, left the black ones to pair up another time. I have now enough socks to wear a different pair to at least Christmas and still have about 15 lone socks. I’ve had charity bags this week, so I’ve got rid of quite a few clothes that haven’t been worn for years. Hoping to clear shed this week as it’s not been done this year, always putting it off.

For a few years I worked as a plumber. I always enjoyed watching householders as I emptied the cupboard under their sink to get to a leak. They were always shocked and amazed at just how much stuff was in that cupboard I am not going to let anyone see what is in mine

When you are overwhelmed, sending to landfill is ok. When you are on top of things, you may have the time to find the perfect new home for stuff you no longer want.

Is food delivery an option for tonight and you race the delivery person to get everything but eBay done, then you can relax when it arrives and "clock off"

Must be the day for it. I cleared out 3 kitchen cupboards this morning. We don't normally bin food but there was stuff in there several years past its best before date.

DH is cooking while I sort the washing.

Ebay can wait until tomorrow.

Had a quick skim of 'no mess decluttering' and it looked quite sensible.

Am going to tackle the 'leftover pile'

@stargazer, I totally agree about Dana White. I started listening to her podcasts on Amazon.
Even though I am very tidy and organised, she has opened my eyes to things I hadn't even thought of, sox! and pens!
