Who loves their kettle?

I hate mine. Want a new one. Looking for ideas as real people are better than google. Currently have a Britax that lights up, needs a filter and is annoying.

Cream coloured would be a bonus.

We have a Bosch that you can set to 70,80,90 or 100 degrees. I love it, hard recommend if you're fed up of waiting for your coffee to cool a bit.

The water is so hard in our area I try not to let myself become too attached to something functional like a kettle!

BirthdayRainbow · 18/09/2024 14:40

I live in a hard water area but I'm moving to one where I think the water will be better, hoping anyway.

I have a Bosch too. Best kettle I've ever had. Must be 15 years old now and the only thing wearing is the 60/70/80 deg lettering!

Sage tea machine or just a sage kettle

Shinyandnew1 · 21/09/2024 22:57

We have a Russell Hobbs one which I love but the filter is knackered!

I love my KitchenAid kettle. Can set any temp from 50-100C and it looks lovely!

whenemmafallsinlove · 21/09/2024 23:00

Yeah KitchenAid is brilliant

I have a new cream one, love it, kind of vintage looking by Haden for £40+. Sorry can't do link but has a spout like an old fashioned teapot if that makes sense.

Asda one. It’s pretty good. White and wood effect.

Thank you. I saw a nice one in Dunelm today but need to read reviews for all of the ones mentioned as well.

I love my smeg, 6 years old and still like new. I do descale it from time to time using lemons.

We have the same one. I absolutely love it. I use the different temperatures for different teas. I also experiment with different temperatures to top up the base coffee from my stove top coffee maker. And I use the 70 temperature to fill the stove top in the first place as I find it makes a fuller tasting brew that way.

There is no end to the hot drink related activities available with this kettle.

Did you know it also has a keep warm function?

negomi90 · 21/09/2024 23:06

I think mines Russel Hobbs. Its red and I love it. My dad gave it to me (along with a toaster) on the day I moved into my first flat. So its probably about 7 years old now. Still going strong. I've never done anything to maintain it. I wouldn't know how.

Dilbertian · 21/09/2024 23:08

I have a Haden that also does the different temperature settings, plus it is glass. Everybody says "Why do you want a glass kettle? This is a hard water area - it'll show all the limescale!" But that's what is so good - you can see exactly when it needs cleaning and so the tea never tastes flat or has limescale sediment in it. Plus 70C is perfect for herbal tea or bouillon and perfect drinking temperature without waiting.

I have a cream Kenwood Dawn kettle, that Which? magazine described as “the best kettle we’ve ever tested” and I really like it. It’s quick & quiet, pours nicely and is easy to descale, which is important for me as we have very hard water.

Copperoliverbear · 21/09/2024 23:43

Kitchen aid or smeg. X
