Washing stinky sportswear with vinegar?

I’ve already washed it and it still smells, so I’m going to wash it again with vinegar. Do I use powder again? Where do I put the vinegar? Do I put the vinegar in in the beginning? Or do an extra rinse at the end? It’s a full load so I don’t want to start soaking it all in buckets really. It’s a normal machine with a drawer for the powder.

Have you used sports wash? I get in from Sainsbury’s and it’s great for getting rid of stinky sweaty smells. No advice on the vinegar I’m afraid

I spray white vinegar on the arm pits until it's soaked and then chuck in the wash as normal.

So id let the vinegar soak in for 20 mins or so and normal wash with powder again.

Good luck!

I just shove a splosh in the main drum with the clothes. For a big stinky sweaty load I'd probably pour half or a full bottle of white vinegar in. Sainsburys does it very cheaply. No need for extra detergent or anything if it's already had that

I have a massive 5l bottle of white vinegar from Amazon which lasts ages - I put it in the fabric softener drawer but if it’s a really smelly load I’d just pour it into the drum. You can also use the Dettol Laundry Cleanser stuff although it’s more expensive

Yes. I use Halo

I use Dettol laundry, it really helps with any sweaty smelling clothes.

I’ve used halo sports wash and dettol antibacterial wash for stinky stuff…I couldn’t get either the other day so got dr Beckmann odour remover and it’s brilliant, will not go back to halo again. It’s completely cleared a terrible musty smell that the other products didn’t touch. Smells really good and you don’t need much.

in my normal washes I put vinegar in the fabric softener slot every wash, it keeps things fresh and it seems to stop limescale in my machine.
