How to use drain gel in this shower

Hi all,

we’ve got one of those shower drains where it’s a bit like a trap. You take the silver cover off, then you’ve got the drain with a hole in the side of it, and a plastic pot sitting in the drain. If I need to use drain gel down it, do I put it in the plastic pot, or take this out and put it down the drain? Or even try and get it down the hole in the side?

You should be able to take the plastic pot out and pour it straight down the drain if needed. I also found the plastic pot needed cleaning.

My worst job .... I get dh to do this one

@Gemstonebeach thank you! I’ve had this type of drain before and have now remembered doing it this way - I’m blaming baby brain 😂

@JoyousPinkPeer yeah it is NOT it! sadly I need to tackle it this time as he’s at work and I need a shower 😂

Have you cleaned the mushroom bit properly by taking it apart with a phillips screwdriver? Remove the cup bit if putting anything down the drain.
