Wool blanket shedding

Made a blanket for dd out of 100% merino wool that sheds like crazy. The yarn (if you can call it that!) that I used is just wool fibers, not weaved (?).

This is the wool: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/814600273/100-merino-wool-roving-for-arm-knit

Any recommendations on how to treat it so it stops shedding? any sealant sprays you're aware of?

The fibres just break if you pool so I'm not sure it would resist a wash....

too cheap for good quality merino wool

Yes, well, lesson learned. I never buy from Etsy for this reason but reviews were so good that I decided to risk it. When I started the blanket it was well over the complain period and there was nothing I could do, other than make the blanket!

Any suggestions on the shedding?

forget reviews and look at the price
that was way way too cheap for merino

You probably need to felt it one way or another you could do this by agitation or needle felting or by hot water (but this could make it shrink)
