Smell of urine in mattress

Hi all. My DD had an accident the other night on her mattress it went straight through the mattress protector. I’ve cleaned it and used my upholstery cleaner on it but I can still smell the wee on the mattress. Does anyone have any tips to get rid of the smell please?

Bicarb. Sprinkle it liberally, rub it in a bit, leave it all day if you are able to and then hoover it up. Then spray with white vinegar and let it dry.

Bicarb and vinegar as the PP says and if possible put it outside to dry for a couple of hours in the sun, if there is any sun

Bicarb with a couple of drops of essential oil mixed in (like lavender) - as @ForKeenLimeOtter says, sprinkle over, rub it in, and hoover a few hours later

If it's not raining take it outside for as long as possible tomorrow morning. After cleaning it I'd put some kavander essential oil on the materss to mask any other smells.

Another vote for bicarb! My cat in her later years got a bit confused and pissed on the bed on a few occasions, was always fixed with a liberal coating of bicarb, left for several hours and then hoovered.

You could also try an enzyme cleaner designed for animal urine? If it gets the smell of cat piss out, it will get small child piss out!

Simple solution saved DCs mattress. Its an enzyme cleaner for pet accidents, we picked it up in pets at home.

I used hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle. Sprayed the spot with quite a lot of it and let it soak in then dry all day. Smell and any discoloration was gone. The mattress cover was white. I believe peroxide can bleach out colours a bit, but I’ve never had it happen.
