Fridge freezer with or without a water dispenser?

I think I've found the fridge I want. But I'm having a dilemma about whether to buy the version with the water dispenser or not.

Reviews say it's the same capacity whether you get the water dispenser or not but I'm baffled by that, how can it be? Surely the dispenser takes up space?

And my worry is that it's a bit unhygenic and isn't it just better to have a water jug in the fridge that you'll clean more often, but OTOH if it's there you're more likely to help yourself to water.

Here are the models:

What does the Mumsnet hivemind think?

Without, we never use ours. It was too much effort to keep clean 😳

We have a water dispenser in our fridge, the water isn't stored in the fridge, it is hooked up to the water supply with a water filter.

I'd go for the version without the dispenser, personally. It's something that is probably a bit flimsy and could break, plus it's just something else to clean.

I also think a fridge without one looks cleaner/neater.

Without. Major hassle

Keroppi · 05/09/2024 18:47

Without, they're so hard to keep clean and break all the time ime

Without.

I always feel there's a taste off the water from them and, with kids, there are often drips down the front of the fridge and on the floor.

Pretty much unanimous then!

I'm not going to get a fridge to plumb in, it would involve ripping up pipes and it's not worth it, so it's either one of these are none and everyone is satisfyingly confirming my prejudices.

Without, we have one which DH fills, usually too full so it drips, then you have to take it apart to clean or you get black mould in them
