Best way to clean/mop Lino?

Just moved in to a rental with Lino floor in the kitchen and have just mopped but wasn't very happy with the result.

For one the mop barely moves over the Lino, it's that textured with a wood effect (lots of lines) that it feels more like mopping the pavement. I can just see that all the dirt is going to sit in these grooves.

There was only a couple of marks and footprints (pretty try sure it's newly laid) but I really struggled to get them up without getting down with a cloth and even still didn't feel like it was properly clean.

Am I missing something? Never had Lino before and hoping I won't have to get down on my hands and knees every night.

Get a steam mop

Try a stiff broom to scrub the floor and a mop (rinsed in clean water and wrung out) to clean it after.

Get some cheap lino and lay it over the top (so if you move out you can just whip it up and the landlord has their original lino back again).

I feel your pain. I made the mistake of buying a textured lino and ...yeah, no. Looked nice. Bastard to clean.

I think new Lino on top may well be the best suggestion, it really is that difficult to clean. Looks great, but I just know it won't stay that way.

We are only here temporarily so gonna cost it up and see if it's worthwhile but in the moment of mopping the bloody thing I'd pay anything.
