My sister has spilt her takeaway (so prob. loads of colourings) on my mums rug, she has rung me for an answer soooo... will anything take a curry stain from a rug? It's a jute feeling type rug, no pile at all if you can imagine it. Thanks so much.

1001 carpet cleaner has shifted everything i've used it for - mud, baked bean sauce, tomato ketchup, fresh orange juice. And it's never faded the carpet. It's worth giving it a shot!!

I have been told by a orfesional carpet claner never to use 1001 as it is a soap and therfore may well trun black later.....
with curry, the best bet is to put the rug out in the sun....the sun will bleach the colour.(hopefully) I have known a few indian grandmothers swear by this on table clothes, anyway.

You could try White Wizard (available from Lakeland and John Lewis). It has got loads of stains out for me - including some ancient ones.

curry - so basically turmeric - is weird. wash a white t-shirt with it on 1,2, 3,4, 5, times and it will look permanent - 6th time its totally gone... I dont know how you apply this to a rug but my two eat lots of curry and I can tell you what looks like it will never shift goes away very suddenly when it goes...

THanks, she ended up hosing it in the garden and then putting it in the washing machine (!) so hopefully it'll be ok
