Limescale on shower wall

The wall tiles by my shower are covered in limescale - very hard water area. At the moment I'm using Viakal liquid from the squeezy bottle, but it trickles down the wall and doesn't really stay put long enough to do the job. I need something more gloopy that will coat the tile long enough to work. Anyone got any bright ideas? TIA

If you clean the area as soon as you've put the viakal on it will clear a lot of it off.

HG or Viakal, but it may need a couple of applications. I tend to apply it and use a scrubbing brush, then wipe off. You can also use oven cleaner which can be quite effective.

Vinegar for limescale and let it sit as long as you can . We got a water softener best investment ever

Buy a water softener - Harveys or Kinetico are the best because they're mechanical. Yes you have to pay a fair bit up front for the softener, and yes you need to feed them salt sometimes (depends how much water you use), but truthfully the amount of time you save faffing with limescale remover (aside from the actual cost of the stuff) plus the fact you use less soap/washing powder etc, and all your appliances last forever because they are not filled with limescale means in the long run it saves you money as well as time and hassle.

Soak a kitchen paper towel with white vinegar so it sticks to the tiles. Leave for an hour or so and then wipe clean. Repeat as necessary or move the towel to the next area. This works well for the really bad bits but is a bit of a faff if you are doing the whole area.

Thanks all. The oven cleaner seems to work better than viakal, less scrubbing needed.
