Divan bed

If you have a divan bed please can you tell me what you have covering the base? I much prefer a bed frame and mattress but I have been given a divan base.

My mother was obsessed with valances, huge gathered things, and I swear I have heard the words valance and valance sheet every day of my life.

What do people who are not my mother put on a divan base?

The fabric on the base of mine matches the headboard, I don't cover it. I just have a mattress protector, fitted sheet and then the duvet.

That sounds really nice! Mine is the same material as the mattress itself. Shiny and damask type, so I will definitely want to cover it.

I'm not aware of any other option in lieu of a valance sheet, unless you would consider having it upholstered?

If you're anyway handy you might be able to do it yourself.

Zara Home do valances that are non gathered. I have a lovely white ribbed one that they don’t seem to do anymore but they have some lovely linen ones
