Smashing plates

I’ve broken 6 plates and bowls (yes, username) in the last month, just putting them away. Aside from me having some sort of neurological condition, can anyone recommend really HARDY crockery, ideally in white and not too big? Needs to fit in dishwasher etc.

My hands just don’t seem to grip this set properly and it breaks at any force. (We have already plundered the spare set in the garage but as I was opening the box on the counter the plates slipped out and two smashed.) This set is just a basic one from M&S.

Denby

Corelle. Even the person in my house with coordination problems hasn't managed to smash those.

Denby

I had a look and there are lots of types, are they all equally sturdy or some better than others?

I can only speak definitively for my denby which have lasted 20 odd years with only a few breakages (side eyes DD, adhd and arguably dyspraxic) which have been replaced (economically using tesco clubcard points). Everyone else seems to have the same experience with regard to the sturdiness of denby

I had/have the old jet and now new elements range (which matches the old jet beautifully but i have to grudgingly admit is marginally nicer).

The large plates are rather large, so you do need a dishwasher with an adjustable top shelf, so if you are buying individually look for the salad plates, but tbh we mostly use the pasta bowls for everything except Roasts and Christmas dinner
