Help! Can't tie washing line cord

I finally got round to buying some more PVC-coated washing line cord (wire in the middle) to add another line and hang more clothes to dry outside. I've secured one end round a pole, but can I tie a loop so I can get the other end to attach to a hook on the wall? Absolutely not, it just keeps untying itself.

Please give me your tips on how to tie a knot in it so I can dry my socks?!

Not sure what would work with that.
I think I'd start by trying a round turn and two half hitches.

Oh sorry, misread... you want a loop.

Leave a good length then tie a double knot, wrap it around again, tie another knot then try and poke the end through the tied bits.

Not very scientific I know.

You need to make a loop. Just tie a knot in the line and then stretch it over the hook. It shouldn’t come undone as it will be getting tighter as you stretch it towards the hook.

Do you know how to do a bowline? This works ok with plastic covered line in my experience.

Thanks all, I'll be trying all of the above and brushing up on my knot knowledge. It's been a long time since Brownies!
