Best way to remove vomit stains from cream carpet?

My child had a bout of vomiting last night that has gone everywhere. I scrapped it up and used the carpet vax cleaner on it in the night (only quickly as it's very noisy). I have done the same this morning more thoroughly but there is a lot of orange staining.

Any ideas on how to remove it?

And blood! Any ideas how to get a lot of bright red blood from a white work uniform? I got covered in blood at work and uniform is currently in a bag awaiting washing. I have been side tracked with the sick!

Soak your uniform in cold water and it will loosen the blood, rinse and wash as normal. Hot water will just congeal it as blood contains proteins.

I find Dr. Beckett carpet cleaner good for stains, but I'm not sure how effective it would be on vomit. Is your carpet wool or synthetic? Some synthetic carpets can be cleaned with bleach.

I think it might be the case you just have to go over it a few times with the Vax carpet cleaner. One of my dogs had a nasty case of the runs on a cream rug and I thought it was a goner but a few goes over with the carpet cleaner over the next few days (let it dry out a bit in between) and a good soak in some zoflora and it came up good as new. That was an acrylic/synthetic blend though, so it you have wool carpet it may not work.

We had newborn baby poo on our brand new cream carpet, so the brown stuff that really stains. We just went over it repeatedly with Vanish and eventually it completely disappeared.
