Does it look like bed bugs?

My bed linen is getting stains on it like in photos, and I have been bitten overnight for 2 months despite vacuuming, steaming and spraying bed & bedroom. I thought it was fleas as my cat does sometimes sleep on the bed. Cat treated for fleas. But what do you think of the stains? I have searched and no sighting of actual insects anywhere. Tiny black droppings on sheets, though. Feeling stressed if it’s bed bugs, we’re about to move house!

Bed bugs tend to bite you in a line as they crawl on you. Do you have lines of bites?

I would call in a professional so you know exactly what you're dealing with. You absolutely do not want to move an infestation into your new home along with you.

@Margo34
Yes, sometimes bites are in a line, but then fleas bite in lines often too, so I’ve not been sure.

As a pp said, are the bites in lines or clusters?

Blood spots in the bed and bug poop are early warning signs unfortunately. Have you lifted up the piping on your mattress to look deep in the seam? They can hide in teeny tiny crevaces so you don't always see them at a glance, having a good poke around in all the seams of the mattress and bedding, any joints in the bed itself, the curtain seams etc would probably reveal if you have them or not. If you can fit a credit card into a gap, bedbugs can hide out in there.

Honestly if you're about to move I'd just call a professional to come in and have a look, last thing you need it to bring bedbugs to your new home!

@MonsteraMama
Yes, I’ve inspected mattress seams and underside, and the bed, and can’t see anything. Though there was possible debris along a ridge of the bed frame, I assumed it was just dust needing a hoover. Bites are sometimes in a line, sometimes a cluster, sometimes single. They’ve bitten my eyelid a few times — so miserable!

I had a professional insecticide for fleas on and around the floors a few weeks ago.

I'd definitely get someone out to have a look, debris on the bed frame could be a sign they're living in the joints of the frame itself. Just to be on the safe side! Hopefully it's just fleas, which are at least easier to get rid of 🤞

Maybe they missed some? Get someone in if you're just about to move. Just to be sure they're gone.
