Silverfish in my bathroom

Please help😁

I must see half a dozen a night. I've taken to spraying disinfectant on them / the floor, and cleaning every night.

How do I get rid of them? They creep me out.

silverfish predate the dinosaurs - they love paper, wallpaper paste, but they will not harm you - they are the shy pets of The Borrowers

The silverfish are there because of the excess moisture in the bathroom.

If you can get hold of a dehumidifier and place it on the landing/hallway outside the bathroom and keep the door ajar, it will help to get rid of them.

If you don't have one, I recommend the smaller Meaco DD8L which was one of the Which best buys a few years ago when I got it.

I had a problem with silverfish in a downstairs room due to previous owner using a tumble drier in an unventilated understairs cupboard. It was awful, seeing the silverfish all the time. But as the room dried out they gradually disappeared and I don't see them anymore (touch wood).

White vinegar mixed with baking soda mixed in a bottle or jug. Make it quite thin (not thick and gooey.) Put it over as much of the floor as you can. That will get rid of them! (Don't let any children or animals near it though, and do NOT ingest it, as the mixture is dangerous and toxic!)

Forgot to add that all the constant spraying with disinfectant will be adding more moisture to the crevices in the room, which they like. Depriving them of moisture is the way to go.

I've had some luck with salt, they don't seem to like that.
