hi, I've got a stainless steel splashback behind the hob in my new (ish) kitchen.

I had cleaned the hob with my pinkredible sponge, which is supposed to be non-scratch... worked fine on hob (electric ceramic type thing) but on the stainless steel - I now have light scuff marks on it. is there anyway to remove them? I've tried baby oil, but it just made it nice and shiny.

Has anyone successfully got rid of similar scuff marks??
I now know that stainless steel has a grain, and obv I went against the grain when I was cleaning. Not sure if the pic is clear, but to give you an idea.

TIA.
